Dr. John Willardsen specializes in all phases of implant surgery and implant prosthodontics, including guided bone regeneration, subantral augmentation, dental implant surgery, alveolar ridge preservation, dental implant restorations for edentulous and partially edentulous patients. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Associate Faculty and Loma Linda University Center for Implant Dentistry and prosthodontics. Dr. Willardsen attended Brigham Young University from 1990-1993, prior to BYU he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salta, Argentina from 1988-1990, where he served the people of that country and became fluent in Spanish. 

After his mission he finished his undergraduate education at BYU and was accepted into dental school at many universities around the country. Ultimately he decided to attend Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry from 1993-1997. Upon completion of his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, he entered in to a residency program at Loma Linda University Center for Implant Dentistry, from 1997-2001. At the time Loma Linda University and Harvard University were the only schools in the country with full time residency programs specific to implant surgery and implant prosthodontics. Dr. Willardsen excelled during his residency and training. Upon completion of his residency he stayed on as part-time faculty while maintaining his private practice.

Dr. Willardsen has started five practices since his completion at Loma Linda University specializing in Implant Dentistry. Recently Dr. Willardsen was approached by the Dental Board of California to help them take over the cases of a large Implant practice. The Smile Implant Center, where the doctor of that practice lost his dental license and was forced to close down, leaving very complex implant cases and patients unfinished and with many failing implants and complications. Dr. Willardsen, has successfully been able to get all of these patients finished and happy after they had experienced tremendous loss and suffering after being abandoned by the Smile Implant Center.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Willardsen has placed and restored thousands of dental implants and provided comprehensive full mouth restorations to thousands of satisfied patients. Dr. Willardsen provides the highest level of care and technology for his patients and maintains on the cutting edge available implant surgery and prosthodontics. As a result of this, many Dentists refer and consult with Dr. Willardsen on their most complex cases. He provides consulting, surgical and prosthodontics services for many doctors and dentist throughout the country. Dr. Willardsen is a member of the California Dental Association, the Tri-County Dental Society, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Academy of Osseointegration, Southern California Study Club (a division of Seattle Study Club), Lecturer for Occlusion Connections and AAID Maxi-Course.
