Sinus Lift is the process of elevating a small portion of the patients jawbone into the sinus cavity to create a layer of bone that will protect the implants from the toxin of the cavity. The bone is added between your jaw and the maxillary sinuses, which are on either side of your nose. This procedure is performed when Dr. Willardsen determines that only a small increase in the depth and density of the bone in necessary to ensure the success and longevity of the implant.
Sinus Augmentation procedure involves the process of elevating the "Schneiderian Membrane" or commonly called the "Sinus Membrane", and placing a bone graft (bone material) onto the sinus floor, the bone used in sinus lift may come from your own body, or a donor. Once the bone is in place, the tissue is closed with stitches.
